Plaster Cast Of Jimi Hendrix's Penis To Be Displayed In Museum

The cast was donated to the museum by its creator

A plaster cast of Jimi Hendrix’s penis is set to be put on display at the Icelandic Phallological Museum – I bet that’s a sentence you didn’t think you’d be reading today, isn’t it?

The plaster cast of the iconic musician’s member is set to be unveiled at the museum in Reykjavik during a closed event next month.

The cast was created and donated by the late Cynthia Albritton – who had the nickname the Plaster Caster for obvious reasons – and will be displayed alongside other casts of Hendrix’s penis during the exhibit, Louder Sound reports.

Albritton, who died earlier this year, gained notoriety for her plaster casts of rockstars’ bits, as well as Hendrix she also cast Martin Atkins from Nine Inch Nails and Buzzcocks’ star Pete Shelley.

And it wasn’t just willies she did, either, Albritton also cast the breasts of various female musicians including Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

In an interview with Rock Scene magazine ten years ago, Albritton said: "Jimi Hendrix was coming to town. He was my first real rock star that dipped his dick and it was unbelievable.

"We were the groupies that got to the hotel first and we were the only groupies in Jimi Hendrix's room. It wasn't our very first cast. I had tried it on a few civilians first to be ready for Jimi.

"He's my biggest. No, he's not my biggest. There are 'bigger-ish' others. But I couldn't say whether or not he's my most exciting. Because they're my sweet babies and I am their mama and I'm very democratic with all my babies.

“I don't like to play favourites. I love them all. The experiences were equally exciting and weird and different from each other."

Fair enough, who knew there was so much to it, eh?

Opening up about the process, Albritton said that Hendrix was ‘really laid back’ and quite ‘relaxed’ about the whole thing but did admit that his ‘pubes got stuck’, which doesn’t sound like much fun.

The Icelandic Phallological Museum is ‘probably the only museum in the world to contain a collection of phallic specimens belonging to all the various types of mammal found in a single country’, which is a bold claim to fame.

Its collection contains more than 200 penises and penile parts.

Now you’ll have to excuse me because I reckon that’s just about enough internet for me for one day.
