Baywatch star Pamela Anderson's resurfaced revelations about her relationship to Russian president Vladimir Putin have sent social media users into a frenzy.

In a 2018 interview with former Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan, the ex-Playboy model and animal rights activist reflected on when she first came into contact with Putin.

Morgan also raised the question as to whether the 54-year-old had ever engaged in a romantic relationship with the Russian leader, which has led to social media users seeing Anderson as a potential 'secret weapon' for the West to help halt Russia's ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

Anderson's contact with Putin apparently dates back to 2009. A shipment containing 1,700 tons of endangered fin whale meat was set to pass through Russian waters, and Anderson reached out to the president in the hopes of him blocking it, The Mirror reports.

She told Morgan: 'Well I wrote to him and asked him to stop the importation of seal products, because this was 95% of the market, and that could potentially shut down the Canadian seal hunt, which is one of my big goals.'

In the letter, Anderson referred to the pair's 'mutual love for animals' and 'deep respect for nature', calling her request one that was 'personal'.

The ex-Playboy model explained that Putin agreed to her request and 'made it actually illegal to import seal products even into the country' and went so far as to invite her to Russia to combat the problem alongside the country.

When questioned as to whether she spoke directly with the Russian president, Anderson left an awkward silence.

Morgan pressed: 'Have I found number three? We're not talking Adil, Julian (Assange) and Vladimir I hope, are we? Are we? We are, aren't we? Are we? Okay wasn't ready for this one, but let's go with the flow.'

'No, let's not go any further with this one,' Anderson stated.

However, while staying quiet on the extent of her relationship to Putin and whether it ever crossed any romantic boundaries, Anderson did admit that the leader of the Kremlin did 'wanted [her] to come at his inauguration and give him flowers' in 2012.

Anderson explained she didn't fulfil his request, despite having been 'in the same place together, sometimes'.

Social media users have since speculated online over the resurfaced clip from the 2018 episode of Piers Morgan's Life Stories.

Amid the ongoing invasion of Ukraine by Russia, and Anderson's self-professed 'great relationship with Russia', a user who shared the clip to Twitter called the former model 'the only person Vladimir Putin is going to listen to'.

'Pamela is the only person who can say “Vladdy look at me!!! This isn’t you” and have it actually work,' another wrote.

A third noted: 'She needs to write another letter.'
