A mum has divided opinion after explaining on TikTok that she's changing her one-year-old daughter's name.
When it comes to picking baby names it's a pretty difficult task, after all you are choosing what the kid is going to be called for the rest of their life.
Actually picking the name can be really tricky, as there's all sorts of wonderful names out there, but settling on one and sticking with can be the hardest part.
Lots of parents plan their children's names far in advance so everyone knows what they'll be called months before they're born.

Obviously, the parents will pick something they like the sound of, be that the name of a beloved relative, something they really like the sound of, or even a popular TV character.
Spare a thought for all those kids named 'Khaleesi' by Game of Thrones fans only for her to go mad and try to declare war on the rest of the world at the end of the show.
Usually, when a baby is born they're stuck with the name their parents gave them for a good few years, at least until they're old enough to go and get it legally changed.
However, one mum divided opinion after changing her one-year-old daughter's name, and people are split over whether she made the right call.

Plenty of people were left confused at the name change, with Kayla explaining that her daughter's biological father had chosen the name while they were engaged.
Loads were supportive of the name change, with one person saying 'your child, your choice' and many others stepped in to defend the decision to others in the comments.

Plenty of commenters said they 'love' Blakely as a name, while people actually called Blakely piled into the comments to wish the mother and daughter well.
Others were more divided over the decision, with someone saying they 'thought she was joking' and another asking 'if she already answers her name why change it'.
Another asked 'what if she hates it when she's older and wishes you kept it', while more commenters asked why she was changing her daughter's name when they assumed she already answered to her old one.

Someone else wanted to know whether she'd tell her daughter when she was older that her name had been changed when she was a toddler.
Overall the general vibe was largely supportive, with many people asking questions that were more curious than critical.
