An Indian businesswoman has gone viral for offering a match on a matrimonial website a job rather than a date.

Dating apps can often feel pretty bleak and hopeless. However, one woman decided to reinvent how she was using one.

Udita Pal, co-founder of neo banking solution company, Salt, which is based in Bengaluru, India, took to Twitter to reveal the proposition she made to a potential match on Indian matrimonial portal Jeevansathi.com.

She also shared the response she received from her father when he found out she had asked the match for his resume opposed to a date.

Pal shared a screenshot of her father's messages to her after he discovered what she'd done.

Pal's father said: "You know what you did. You cannot hire people from matrimonial sites."

He questioned her as to what he would 'tell his father now' after his daughter 'gave him [an] interview link and asked for [his] resume'.

Pal's father continued: "Reply you crazy girl."

Pal's response to her father was that the match had 'seven years of fintech experience' which is 'great'. She also argued her company was 'hiring'.

While initially laughing, she later apologised to her father.

In the post's caption, Pal joked her father had 'disowned' her.

The co-founder later revealed her father deleted her Jeenvansathi.com profile.

In the end, Pal's company didn't end up hiring the match because he had higher salary expectations.

However, the post amassed over 12,000 likes and hundreds of comments, with other Twitter users quick to flock to the tweet in support of Pal. One resolved Pal's attempt to recruit her match was a 'pure boss move'.

"Loooooooove this!! You go girl! Never settle, or settle when you want," another said.

A third wrote: "Normal people: Uses Linkdin as Matrimonial Site

"I am sure this isn’t the job he was expecting to get initially, but this may have sufficed! (that he didn’t get even this, is another story altogether)," a final commented.

Jeevansathi.com even replied to Pal's post. "Let us know if you still have an opening & we will apply for the perfect life partner. #WeMatchBetter," the site said.

It also pointed the co-founder in the direction of job recruitment platform Naukri.
