Elon Musk gets slammed for sharing controversial meme on Twitter

The meme also appears to roast the very social media channel he purchased for a cool USD$44 billion.

Elon Musk has copped an absolute roasting on Twitter after he shared a wild meme that appears to be mocking pretty much everyone aside from America.

Social media users slammed the former richest man in the world after he posted a cartoon of two people, which came with a little bubble that reads: "They brainwashed you."

The person making the accusation speaks to a figure holding the American flag.

However, the one claiming the other has been brainwashed is adorned with symbols in support of the LGBTQ+ community, vaccines, Black Lives Matter, Planned Parenthood, communism, CNN, Islam and a number of social media sites, including Twitter.

Musk tweeted it with the caption. "I’m not brainwashed!!"

Social media users wasted no time in clapping back.

One user had a grim prediction: "This guy is trying to end his own career."

A second broke down the symbols in the controversial post: "Lets un-memefy this image and spell it out: Elon Musk thinks people have been brainwashed into defending vaccines, surgical masks, LGBTQI+ rights, antiracism, access to abortion, Taoism and Twitter but that, in reality, these are not things that should be defended. Disturbing."

Another person highlighted that Twitter was included in the graphic: "My brother in Christ, you literally own that website."

It's not the first time Musk has taken aim at gender, pronouns, and other social issues that he dislikes on the public platform.

Back in 2020, the Tesla boss garnered a similar reaction to comments he made claiming 'all these pronouns are an esthetic nightmare'.

His statement was a response to an article that criticised him over a meme he’d shared showing an animated soldier wearing a hat that says ‘I love to oppress’ and rubbing blood on his face with the caption: “When you put he/him in ur bio."

Musk's latest tweet would be particularly tough on his estranged trans daughter.

In June, the Twitter CEO's daughter filed a petition to the Los Angeles County Superior Court in order to change her name to Vivian Jenna Wilson, the surname being that of her mum – Musk's ex-wife Justine Wilson.

According to the 18-year-old, the reason she's changing her full name is to reflect her identity and because 'I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form'.

Well, we can't see how this tweet will help any burned bridges between the father and daughter.
