Donald Trump Wants To Build A MAGA-Friendly Netflix Alternative

He's had the White House, and he's lost the White House. He's had Twitter, and he's lost Twitter. Now, he's taking on streaming

Donald Trump is getting ready to take on the streaming giants with a MAGA-friendly alternative to Netflix.

He's had the White House, and he's lost the White House. He's had Twitter, and he's lost Twitter. The former US President's ambitions have often preceded failure over the past two years, but he's not taking his foot off the gas just yet.

Last year, he unveiled Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG), from which he’s spawned his own social network TRUTH Social, created ‘to stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech’. After its launch in March, the BBC reported a 95 percent drop in downloads - and Trump has barely posted on his own app.

TMTG has posted two job openings: one for a content development manager; and another for a content acquisition professional for TMTG+, the company's new streaming service.

The platform is set to be a 'Big Tent platform offering broad-based entertainment rooted in free speech'.

The job description adds: "In addition to the Social Media platform Truth Social, our SVOD platform TMTG+ will be the home for a wide variety of non-scripted, scripted, and original content."

For the former position, the successful candidate will be tasked with 'independently managing a rotating slate of development projects, including paper development, casting and pilots' as well as 'staying current on developing trends' at other networks.

The content development manager will also be required to 'stay aware of emerging talent and upcoming non-scripted programming' and 'foster and maintain strong relationships with creative talent'.

TRUTH Social has dipped by more than 90 percent since March.

For the latter position, the successful candidate will be tasked with 'identifying content for licensing, sourcing ownership, and negotiating distribution rights for our SVOD platform', as well as 'participating in all aspects of new business development'.

The job ad also notes: "This is an exciting opportunity for someone to put their stamp on a new and exciting SVOD platform."

TMTG's vision statement reads: "If Big Tech can censor the president of the United States, then they can censor anyone.

"To counter this liberal bias and dangerous exercise of tech monopoly censorship, Donald J Trump and TMTG intend to create a media and technology company rooted in social media, digital streaming, information technology infrastructure and more.

"In the year 2021, the media pendulum has swung dangerously far to the left. TMTG intends to even the playing field."

It's unclear when MAGA supporters should expect the launch of TMTG+.
