Serial killer gave horrifying 11-word explanation for her disturbing murders after getting caught

Joanna Dennehy gave a chilling reason for murdering several men and wounding others

A woman who launched a bloody tirade in a stabbing spree against several men gave a chilling reason why she did it.

Back in 2013, Cambridgeshire, England, was rocked by a series of harrowing cases that went on to earn the nickname 'Peterborough ditch murders' since three victims were found dumped in various ditches outside the city.

They were 48-year-old Kevin Lee, a property developer and landlord, Lukasz Slaboszewski, a 31-year-old Polish national and John Chapman, 56.

Police eventually traced Joanna Christine Dennehy to be behind the bloody spree which took place over a 10-day period in March that year.

The murders earned Dennehy a whole life sentence behind bars - making her one of four women in the UK to receive such a hefty sentence, next to that of infamous child killer, known as the Moors murderer, Myra Hindley, as well as Rosemary West from her house of horrors where she killed 10 children with her husband, and more recently Lucy Letby, the nurse convicted of killing seven babies.

As for Dennehy, however, she revealed she would 'never' attack a woman, especially mothers, revealing to the authorities she only ever wanted to hurt and kill men.

She also revealed to an accomplice that she was driven to kill for 'entertainment', her trial heard.

"I want my fun. I need you to get my fun," she also explained to her accomplice in a chilling statement.

Dennehy first met her victim, Lee, when leaving prison as he rented her a cheap room in 2012.

After becoming embroiled in a sexual relationship, she worked for Lee as an 'enforcer' to help him collect rent from tenants.

However, she first killed Slaboszewski, who had believed Dennehy was his girlfriend, by luring him to her home and stabbing him before dumping his body in a garbage can.

She later told a psychiatrist she killed him to 'see if I was as cold as I thought I was'.

A week later, she stabbed Chapman to death, confirming to her accomplice in a harrowing text: "Oops, I've done it again."

She killed Lee that very same day after promising him sexual favors before stabbing him as he came to her home. She then dressed his corpse in a black sequin dress and positioned his body in a ditch.

Weeks later, the trial heard she wanted to murder again, getting her accomplice, Gary Stretch, to drive her further afield, where they stabbed two men walking their dogs in a nine-minute stabbing spree and made off with the second victim's dog.

In November 2023, Dennehy pleaded guilty to three counts of murder and two attempted murder charges.

Stretch, as well as two other accomplices, also received sentences of 14 years and three years, respectively.

Mr Justice Spencer determined the woman suffered from a psychological condition, paraphilia sadomasochism, which stimulates sexual enjoyment from inflicting pain and humiliation.

The judge added she was a 'cruel, calculating, selfish and manipulative murderer' before handing her the hefty sentence.
