A body language expert has given her thoughts on Johnny Depp and his lawyer's conduct in court.

Amid the ongoing libel trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, a body language expert has weighed in on the non-verbal relationship between the Pirates of the Caribbean actor and his lawyer, Camille Vasquez.

Judi James said she views Depp's 'intense flirting' with his lawyer as a tactic to try and 'destroy' Heard's case.

James believes Heard's allegations of being a victim of domestic abuse within her and Depp's marriage could be 'destroy[ed]' by Vasquez, who the expert described as a 'fresh, smart, fragrant, and confident-looking woman'.

She told Mail Online: "As a dejected, weeping Amber details her relationship with Depp in the witness box, what better weapon to wheel in to try to destroy her version of the marriage than this fresh, smart, fragrant, and confident-looking woman who is also happy to use body language to suggest she is a coyly smitten fan?

"Her behaviour in court places Depp back in role as the romantic hero. For Depp’s loyal fans these dramatic rituals will seem like validation. 'If this smart, beautiful woman thinks he is OK then maybe he is,' will be the implied message."

Judi James said Camille Vasquez's behaviour with Depp places the actor in the role of 'romantic hero'.

James stated that Depp is 'show[ing] off all his skills of eye contact, charm and even protective concern with Vasquez'.

She highlighted Depp's behaviour towards his lawyer by comparing it to the actor 'treating his ex like a modern day Medusa who might turn him to stone if he once looks in her direction'.

"Like a man on his first date he pulls her chair back as she stands and he even quietly moves the lead of her phone charger to make it easier for her to text as she stands," she said.

James accused Depp and Vasquez of 'hardly' being able to 'keep their hands off one another' and argued that Depp and his lawyer are purposefully making their relationship appear 'flirtatious'.

She said: "He touches her when he walks into court and his exit brings on a ritual reminiscent of DiCaprio’s drift away from Winslet’s raft in the closing scenes of Titanic.

"Both stretch arms out and touch hands for as long as possible as though reluctant to leave one another’s presence.

"The hug is an even more moving piece of body language theatre. Vasquez winds one arm around Depp’s neck and plants the other hand in the middle of his back as she squeezes her eyes shut in an expression of affectionate bliss."

"If a picture paints a thousand words these "words" look straight out of the pages of Mills & Boone," she added.

When questioned by a TMZ reporter about her relationship with Depp, Vasquez declined to comment on whether or not she was dating him.

James noted: "As she approached the press, her mouth dropped open in a wide and excited-looking smile of happy recognition that converted to dimpling and giggles as she waved to her screaming fans.

"In full celebrity style Vasquez even bent to pet the dog of one fan and then spent time hugging several others. The celebrity posturing looks totally to her taste, but if she is also behaving like Depp’s newest love interest that might just be deliberate, though."

According to James, Vasquez is 'relishing every moment of her new 'celebrity' profile'.

The body language expert concluded by questioning: "A beautiful and besotted love interest for Depp or the most cynical psychological ploy his team could have come up with?"
