Amy Schumer has called out celebrities for ‘lying’ about taking Ozempic.

The comedian and actor visited Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Thursday (June 8) and, during her interview, the topic of Ozempic came up.

Ozempic is a drug used to manage blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes, however, it has gained popularity among celebrities and influencers as a method to lose weight in a short time frame.

Host Andy Cohen admitted he often wonders about which celebrities have used the drug for weight loss purposes and Schumer admitted that she has used Ozempic herself.

Amy Schumer didn't mince her words.

“Like a year ago, I tried it.” she said, adding that she ‘was one of those people that felt so sick and couldn’t play with my son'.

She added that her son was 'throwing a ball' at her but she couldn't engage with him due to being unwell.

The Inside Amy Schumer star claimed that other public figures have tried the drug and criticized all of them for hiding it, however, she didn’t name any specific names.

She said: “Everyone has been lying saying, ‘Oh smaller portions’.

“Like shut the f— up. You are on Ozempic or one of those things or you got work done. Just stop."

She continued: "Be real with the people. When I got lipo, I said I got lipo.”

Ozempic is also known as Wegovy, and both brand names are used for the drug Semaglutide

Amy Schumer spoke about taking Ozempic herself.

Wegovy is approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for weight loss, and the most common side effect of the drug includes gastrointestinal issues and headaches.

Some celebrities have admitted to using a drug to help lose weight.

Last month, Sharon Osbourne said that she experienced side effects after taking a drug to help with weight loss.

The TV personality didn't reveal the name of the drug she'd used, but revealed that after taking it for four months, she lost a total of 30lbs (2.1 stone).

Sharon Osbourne says that injecting weight loss drugs left her with serious side effects.

“I took [the injection],” she said on her Talk TV show. “I took it for four months and I lost 30lbs, but like everything, there’s always no quick recipe.

“I was very sick for a couple of months. The first couple of months, I just felt nauseous. Every day I felt nauseous, my stomach was upset, whatever,” she continued.

“I took [the weight loss drug] for four months, I lost 30lbs. I’ve just shoved two chips in my mouth, while we had the break, and I eat normally now, and I haven’t put on a pound. Nothing.”
