Breaking Bad characters Walter White and Jesse Pinkman will be honoured with statues in Albuquerque.

The two actors from one of the most popular TV shows of all time are set to be made 'immortal' in the form of statues, series creator Vince Gilligan has confirmed.

Gilligan, Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul will be attending the ceremony in New Mexico on July 29 where the bronze figures will be unveiled.

Trevor Grove is the man who sculpted the statues back in 2019 and is now donating them to the city of Albuquerque, alongside Sony Pictures Television.

Gilligan said: "Over the course of fifteen years, two TV shows and one movie, Albuquerque has been wonderful to us.

"I wanted to return the favor and give something back.

"These larger-than-life bronzes of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman exist thanks to the generosity of Sony Pictures Television and the artistry of sculptor Trevor Grove, and I love them.

"It makes me happy to picture them gracing The Duke City for decades to come, attracting busloads of tourists."

Fans of the franchise will also be excited to know that Better Call Saul co-creator Peter Gould has confirmed that the dynamic duo will be joining the final season of the spin-off.

Speaking on a panel at PaleyFest LA, Gould said: “I don’t want to spoil things for the audience, but I will say the first question we had when we started the show was, ‘Are we gonna see Walt and Jesse on the show?’ Instead of evading, I’ll just say 'yeah'.

“How or the circumstances or anything, you’ll just have to discover that for yourself, but I have to say that’s one of many things that I think you’ll discover this season."

As one might expect, the comments sent fans into a frenzy, with one Twitter user commenting: "Oh my god, you guys. Breathe."

A second added: "I need to see Walter White again."

A third speculated how they would tie in the two stories, adding: "Calling it now, the last episode of the final season will end with Saul meeting Walter and Jesse for the first time."

However, some fans weren't best pleased with the spoiler.

One social media user said: "Why would you tweet this and ruin a huge surprise for viewers? Come on."

A second added: "This would have been huge had it not been spoiled."
