Terrifying moment actor 'cheats death' with out-of-control truck on film set

Talk about a close shave

Footage has emerged of the terrifying moment an actor 'cheated death' when an out-of-control truck headed straight for him.

Vishal Krishna Reddy, aka Vishal, is a Kollywood actor and producer who is currently celebrating the upcoming release of his new flick Mark Antony.

But things could've turned out differently as he was nearly ran over by a heavily loaded truck that made its way onto the set.

You can watch the nail-biting clip below:

Sharing the behind-the-scenes footage on Twitter, Vishal wrote: "Jus missed my life in a matter of few seconds and few inches, Thanks to the Almighty.

"Numb to this incident back on my feet and back to shoot, GB."

As you can see, the vehicle breaks through the prop gate without warning – just as the 45-year-old star is laying flat on the floor in the middle of a scene.

Luckily, everyone managed to get out of the way in time, but things certainly looked dicey for a second there.

Hundreds of people have commented on the video to share their relief, with one writing: "Oh Gosh that looks terrible.

"Thank God nothing untoward happened. God bless you and the Mark Antony team."

"Wow that was close," said another. "Hope nobody was injured."

Thankfully Vishal and everyone else on set is okay.

A third added: "Thank God!! Hope everyone is safe and not injured. Most importantly, finding out why this happened and try to avoid it in future for the safety of everyone out there."

While a fourth wrote: "That looks scary, so glad you are safe bro. Hope the rest of team is okay too."

The movie's production company Vishal Film Factory also shared the footage and confirmed no one was hurt by the rogue truck.

It wrote on Twitter: "@VishalKOfficial escapes just in time by a few inches & seconds. All are safe and shooting will resume soon!"

Another actor who experienced an on-set accident - albeit not quite in the same way as above - is Gerard Butler.

The 53-year-old star recently revealed he nearly killed his on-screen widow Hilary Swank in a freak accident on the set of P.S. I Love You.

While on The Drew Barrymore Show, he played the 'Behind the Scenes' game, which involves guests being shown scenes from their movies and sharing the first thought, anecdote or 'naughty detail' that comes to mind.

The scene in question involved Butler's Gerry performing a dance for Swank's Holly, which goes awry when one of the clips from his braces whacks him in the face.

Butler recalled: "And then at one point, the clip, which was a crocodile clip, got stuck in the television as I’m crawling towards her, and she’s right in front of me and she's laughing hysterically.

“The camera people had these plastic fronts to protect themselves from this crocodile [clip] – it was so dangerous – because I had to ping it, and it would go past my face.

"And this time I’m crawling towards the bed, it gets stuck, it releases, flies over my head, hits her in the head, slashes her head.

"I cut her – you could even see the teeth [marks of the clip] and she had to get taken to hospital."

Thankfully, Swank survived – but Butler was so distraught by the incident, he was left on set in his boxer shorts in tears.
