Two caterers working on the set of The Equalizer 3 have been arrested following a huge drugs bust.

Italian paramilitary police stormed the hotel where production staff have been staying while the new Denzel Washington movie films on the Amalfi Coast.

A team of officers raided rooms where employees of the catering company working on the movie were staying, seizing over 100 grams of cocaine on Tuesday (1 November).

According to Il Giornale, two caterers from Rome were arrested during the raid.

The bust came after the head of the movie's catering service suddenly died of a heart attack on Monday night (31 October).

Local reports claim that several packages containing drugs were found inside the man's clothing, which led them to believe that there may be more illegal substances in the hotel.

UNILAD has contacted Sony Pictures for a comment.

The third instalment of the blockbuster franchise is in its fourth week of filming, and sees Washington play Robert McCall, a ruthless vigilante who is not to be messed with.

But as well as the film seeing the 67-year-old reprise his role, it also saw him reunited with Dakota Fanning almost 20 years on from Man on Fire.

They starred together in the iconic 2004 movie, which takes place in Mexico City, where 'a former CIA operative swears vengeance on those who committed an unspeakable act against the family he was hired to protect'.

In the film, Washington plays John Creasy, an alcoholic former CIA agent, and Dakota plays his daughter Lupita, who is abducted.

As you can imagine, the plot made for some incredible on-screen moments, and now, they're reuniting in The Equalizer 3.

The pair finally reunited.

Snaps of the pair reuniting were shared by the production company behind the film, with Sony taking to Twitter to say: "Denzel Washington and director Antoine Fuqua are back for #TheEqualizer3, joined by Dakota Fanning and Gaia Scodellaro. Now in production on the Amalfi Coast, Italy. @TheEqualizer."

Of course, fans lost their s*** about the reunion, including Dakota herself, who took to Instagram stories back in June to say: "My gratitude to share the screen once again with the legend of all legends is endless. Can't wait."

Her sister, Elle, was equally excited bout the reunion saying: "The reunion to beat all reunions!!!!"

Others took to Twitter to share their love for the pair, with one user writing: "Yes I'm excited for this third sequel The equalizer 3 this is so cool the reunion Denzel Washington and Dakota fanning I'm excited."

Another said: "Wow! Excellent news! Great movie, great action, great direction and great acting. Thanks..."
