Quentin Tarantino announces he's killed off one of his beloved movie characters

Renowned director Quentin Tarantino has revealed that a popular character from one of his movies has officially kicked the bucket.
It's not exactly uncommon for people to die in Tarantino's movies - in fact, it's a pretty common trait of his storytelling, but most of the time the deaths happen on screen, and usually in a very violent and bloody way.
It's typically good news for those who live to see the end of the film then, and unless Tarantino decides to change their fate with a sequel, they can be rest assured they'll live forever within the confines of the movie.
That is, until now.

As the creator of the movies, Tarantino has all the power of their characters, and he recently decided to prove it.
Through the podcast The Video Archives, which Tarantino co-hosts with writer Roger Avary, the legendary director declared that one of the main characters from his 2019 movie Once Upon A Time In Hollywood had kicked the bucket.
The drama-comedy starred Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt as two actors, a star and his stunt double, and followed them as they sought to stay afloat in the rapidly changing film industry.
The movie referenced the Manson Family murders, with Margot Robbie in the role of Sharon Tate, and killed off a number of the characters on screen.
DiCaprio and Pitt's characters, Rick Dalton and Cliff Booth, were both still alive when the credits started to roll, but it's DiCaprio's onscreen counterpart who Tarantino has now decided to bid farewell to.
A post on the official Video Archives Twitter account stated: "We are saddened by the news of the passing of actor Rick Dalton, best known for his roles in the hit TV series ‘Bounty Law’ and ‘The Fireman trilogy’.
"Rick passed away peacefully in his home in Hawaii and is survived by his wife Francesca.”
It's unclear exactly how Dalton is supposed to have died, but considering he was supposed to have been born in 1933, it was probably due to old age.
After the news was announced, a statement on the Twitter account added that the next episode of the podcast, set to be released on Tuesday (23 May), will be a Dalton 'memorial episode designed by Quentin that features some of Rick’s best roles'
In spite of his death, Dalton's story isn't over just yet as fans will also get to hear some tiles in the upcoming book, The Films Of Rick Dalton.
