Prince Andrew, who is currently facing a civil lawsuit for alleged sexual assault, has been roasted by SNL host Colin Jost.

Alongside deleting all of his social media accounts, it was recently revealed that Prince Andrew had been stripped of his military titles by the Queen as a result of the accusations made against him by Virginia Roberts Giuffre.

The latest 'Weekend Update' section of Saturday Night Live saw intense jokes made specifically in relation to the Duke of York having closed his Twitter account.

SNL is known for the sort of comedy where nothing is off limits, and indeed Jost followed suit, referring jokingly to Prince Andrew as 'Britain's most eligible bachelor'.

He said: 'This week, Britain’s most eligible bachelor, Prince Andrew, officially deleted his Twitter account... after he realised that was not the app with all the dancing teenagers.'

The host's reference refers to the social media app du jour, TikTok, which has become popular among teenagers to post videos, particularly of their dance routines and lip syncing skills.

Fans of the show naturally responded to the jokes made about the prince, with one writing: 'So great to see SNL can make fun WHENEVER necessary.'

Another joked: 'I love how the Queen got rid of Andrew as soon as Maxwell started arranging her deal to give away big names hahahaha.'

A third commented: '“… after realizing that’s not the app with the dancing teenagers.” – Nailed it.'

Elsewhere in the show, Pete Davidson made yet another appearance, however this time it was portraying the world's current top tennis player Novak Djokovic, who was recently deported out of Australia and now faces a potential ban from playing in the French Open.

Davidson has caused quite the stir in his recent appearances on SNL, particularly after a kiss with none other than Kim Kardashian led to widespread speculation as to whether the pair are dating. Earlier this month in another SNL episode, Davidson joked about his dating life, saying the 'timeline' we're living in 'was created as a joke starting in 2016 when the Chicago Cubs won the world series', but it has now 'spiralled out of control and could explode at any minute'. He added: 'Everyone on Earth is better off in the real world except one man named Pete Davidson. Your world is maybe more fun for him.'
