Jennifer Garner credits Reese Witherspoon for helping her through ‘very public, very hard moment’

Speaking during a panel on Saturday, Jennifer Garner has praised Reese Witherspoon for helping her through ‘very public, very hard moment’.

Jennifer Garner has heaped huge praise on Reese Witherspoon and credited her pal on helping her through a ‘very public, very hard moment’.

Despite never making a movie together, Witherspoon and Garner are good friends, though the pair have never commented on how they actually met each other.

Garner previously recalled being in 'awe' of Witherspoon from the very beginning, adding: "She seems to be five steps ahead always and she’s younger than I am, so you just feel like how do you know all of this."

Meanwhile, Witherspoon has also heaped praise on her fellow actor over the years.

Now, Garner has revealed she can always count on Witherspoon for support, as she gushed over the Penelope actor at Hello Sunshine's Inaugural Shine On Event in Los Angeles on Saturday (21 October).

As per People, Garner - who was on the panel with Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling - said: "I think back to being pregnant. This one [Witherspoon] was sitting next to me.

"I think back to going through a very public, very hard moment in my life. She was right there and the way I needed to get through it was dance cardio."

The actor did not disclose the difficult moment she was referring to during the panel, but she did reveal how dance cardio doubled up as a coping mechanism and a bonding experience for her and Witherspoon.

"And I danced cardio-d so hard, we broke her foot, but she kept going!" the Yes Day added actor.

"It was like, okay, we worked out at seven on vacation, we're going to work out again at two. She was like, ‘I'm going to be there. I'm going to be there.'"

Garner's praise for Witherspoon did not stop there as she praised the actor for her support of her as a parent.

"She'll also look at you and say, ‘Okay, you need to be finding a preschool. This kid is two and a half and they need to start next month. You actually have to get on this,’" she said.

Garner was previously married to Ben Affleck before their divorce in 2018, after 13 years of marriage.

They share three children, daughters Violet, 17, and Seraphina, 13, and 11-year-old son Samuel.

Elsewhere during Saturday's Shine On event, Garner spoke about how Witherspoon had provided space for her and other actors to speak freely.

"Those meetings happened at Reese's house. And it was the first time I'd ever sat down with that many actresses in the same room that we weren't passing each other in an award show in big dresses, where we just sat," she said.

Looks like everyone could do with a Reese in their life.
