This is what's happened to Jaden Smith after he started acting less and less

Though it's often noted how Hollywood is dominated by 'nepo babies', not every actor with famous parents makes it big.

Take Jaden Smith, for example. The son of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith - who recently dropped the bombshell they'd been separated for seven years - Jaden had an unlucky run of box office duds and now has largely turned his back on the movies.

Of course, Jaden's first venture into the film industry came with the 2006 film The Pursuit of Happyness where he played Christopher, the son of you guessed it, Will Smith's character.

The film was a good start for Jaden as his first major role in Hollywood, with The Pursuit of Happyness making a ton of dollar and generally reviewing well among critics.

Jaden even picked up an accolade for the film, as he won the award for Breakthrough Performance at the 2007 MTV Movie Awards.

The 25-year-old's next role came just two years later in 2008 with the Scott Derrickson science fiction film The Day the Earth Stood Still, which was a remake of the 1951 classic of the same name.

Unfortunately, that film was quite the car crash, sitting at a lowly 21 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, with fans and critics quite frankly not liking it very much.

Following an appearance in Jackie Chan's The Karate Kid, Jaden returned with his father once more with the 2013 release of After Earth.

To put it lightly, the film was described as a disaster on all levels by many critics. The film cost $130 million to make, but only returned a lowly $60 million domestically.

It was shred to bits by critics, sitting at a 12 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Since then, Jaden has appeared in the odd movie here and there, though his presence in Hollywood and acting in general is very low.

So what has he been getting up to in the last few years?

Well, Jaden is also a rapper, and has featured with a bunch of famous artists over the years, including Justin Bieber and Young Thug.

Back in 2017, Jaden spoke about starting a rock band with his sister Willow and his then-girlfriend Odessa Adlon, something that really excited fans at the time.

However, the band never came to fruition in the end.

As for the here and now, Jaden recently hit the road with Justin Bieber as the opening act for the North American leg of his tour.
