Hugh Jackman gets emotional as he hits major milestone since split from wife

The Wolverine actor shared a wholesome moment which he had his kids to thank for

A video has emerged online of Hugh Jackman getting emotional after hitting a huge major milestone, which comes 10 months after splitting from his wife of 27 years.

The Australian actor is seen riding passenger in his car crying laughing at his phone, as happy tears stream down his face.

It comes after Jackman discovered that his new film Deadpool & Wolverine became the number one movie in the world.

The blockbuster Hollywood movie grossed $211 million in its opening weekend in the US alone, and $438.3 million worldwide.

It is the sixth-greatest opening weekend for a movie in the US in history.

Only falling behind Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Avengers: Infinity War, Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, and Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi.

But while the Golden Globe winner hit a new high in his esteemed acting career, alongside Deadpool frontman, Ryan Reynolds, just 10 months ago he issued a statement to People about his and wife Deborra-Lee Furness' decision to split.

The actors' statement read: "We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.

"Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives."

It concluded with the Aussie pair signing off as 'Deb and Hugh Jackman'.

Jackman took to Instagram to share the video which shows him laughing at his phone before saying, 'oh my god', while the previous post showed his character Wolverine looking at a picture on his bed, and the framed image read 'number one movie in the world'.

But it was thanks to his children, 24-year-old Oscar and 19-year-old Ava, that he decided to take up the role.

Speaking with The Daily Telegraph, he said: "I had been talking to my kids about, 'what do you want to do with your life? What is it you want to do if you could do anything?'

"And I thought I should ask that of myself, if I could do anything – and I am super lucky in that in many ways I can ask myself that question – what would it be?"

So what was that?

It was to play Wolverine again, so having previously turned down Reynolds' call for them to make a movie together, he phoned him up and told him he was in.

And well, the rest is history.
