People have been left cringing after watching an incident on Drew Barrymore's talk show.

The incident saw Matt Bomer on the show along with Jonathan Bailey, who were there in the wake of their appearance on Fellow Travelers.

Barrymore seemed to be a little starstruck by her guest, and made it very clear to Bomer how she felt.

In the clip, she said: "Matt, you're so hot. I can't believe I'm actually sitting next to you."

This is where things started to get a bit awkward, as Barrymore lamented that all the men she is attracted to are not attracted to women.

She said: "I don't know what's wrong with me. I never meet a straight man I'm attracted to I only am attracted to gay men."

It's not strictly true as Barrymore was previously married to Will Kopelman, with whom she has two daughters. The pair split up in 2016.

Bomer replied: "Well, we love you. We love you. I love you enough for all of us."

Barrymore then recalled that she and Bomer have in fact kissed the same man before.

This was Andrew Rannells, who had previously shared a tender moment with Barrymore and Bomer on separate occasions.

Barrymore said: "Well, I'm proud to say that we actually kissed the same man."

Bomer responded by suggesting that they 'round it out', adding: "We have to close the circle."

The pair then shared a kiss together, before falling back into their seats.

Barrymore said: "This is the only action I get and fantasising and come to work where I get like, the best life I've ever lived."

However, many people were less than impressed with the whole episode and took to the internet to vent their frustrations.

One person wrote: "The word you're looking for drew is unavailable men. Not gay men. Hope this helps!"

The pair shared a tender moment.

A second posted: "I can feel how uncomfortable he is through the screen and it’s making my skin crawl."

A third compared the clip to similar moments on other talk shows, writing: "I feel like Im transported back to the late aughts/early 2010's?? what is this clownery??"

Meanwhile, another person was left cringing so hard at the video that they couldn't even see all of it.

They wrote: "I couldn’t get through the whole clip."

The Drew Barrymore Show has seen favourable comparisons with similar talk shows.

But one person made a pointed remark, posting: "Is she turning into Ellen".

Another replied: "Slowly but surely."
