Morgan Wallen left Saturday Night Live viewers in shock after he walked off stage on March 29.

Wallen was the most recent musical guest on the popular comedy show, having made his debut on SNL back in 2020.

Anora star Mikey Madison was the celebrity host, and she was the only one Wallen appeared to speak to ahead of his swift exit from the stage at the show's end, before the credits had finished rolling.

Traditionally SNL cast members, the host and musical guest all stay on the stage and talk amongst themselves as the credits roll out, but Wallen appeared to be in a rush.

SNL staffers have since addressed the ordeal and allege that the country music star had a 'tantrum' backstage.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, they claimed: "He was unprofessional the entire time and came in with a chip on his shoulder. He thought that he was this massive star that deserved to be treated as if they were lucky to have him and when he wasn't getting that he threw a tantrum."

According to the person, the singer's actions allegedly caused him to be 'blackballed from ever appearing on SNL again'.

UNILAD has previously contacted Wallen's reps and NBC for comment.

While there's been a lot of criticism about Wallen's behavior, longtime SNL star Colin Jost appeared to be a bit more sympathetic towards Saturday night's musical guest, according to a lip reader.

Lip reader Nicola Hicking, on behalf of Slingo, told UNILAD that in the video of the credits rolling out after Wallen had marched off, Jost appeared to say to his co-star: "You gotta' remember how he is feeling."

Following his swift exit, Wallen shared a post to his Instagram Story from the airport runway with the caption saying 'get me to God's country'.

He's since released his own range of merch with his newly-created catchphrase on it.

A t-shirt with the slogan on will set you back £45 ($58), while the caps are priced at £35 ($45).

Wallen announced the news on April 1, and his team have since assured fans that the merch isn't part of an April Fools joke, Billboard reports.

Club Wallen (the singer's official Instagram fan page) shared a post about the new items of clothing, sparking someone to ask if it was just a spoof.

A member of the team who runs the account replied: "No but we see how you’d get there."
