One Direction fans are flocking to social media in a frenzy to point out a flaw in Netflix's new heist drama Kaleidoscope.

Despite Zayn Malik having left the band in 2015 and the remaining quartet of One Direction a.k.a. 1D announcing an extended hiatus in March 2015, the love for the boy band remains strong.

So much so, so-called 'Directioners' are flooding to Twitter in outrage after spotting a fatal error involving 1D in new Netflix series Kaleidoscope.

Kaleidoscope may have only been released onto the streaming service on New Year's Day (1 January, 2023) but it's already kicked up quite the storm.

The official synopsis reads: "Spanning 25 years, the show follows a crew of masterful thieves who work to unlock a seemingly unbreakable vault for the biggest payday in history. Before they can get their hands on the cash, they must make it through the world's most powerful corporate security team and the FBI."

Not only is it a fast-paced thriller about a heist but it's eight episodes can be watched in any order, in a whopping total of 5,040 different ways.

However, where One Direction fans are concerned, none of this matters because a pair of One Direction tour tickets can be spotted in the series' 'Green' episode when one of the criminals Judy (Rosaline Elbay) tries to bribe a police officer with 1D tickets to be able to smuggle SIM cards to her boyfriend Stan Loomis (Peter Mark Kendall). The date listed on the tickets reads 2016 and despite the series being A PIECE OF FICTION, Directioners have been left far from amused by the inaccuracy.

Fans of the boyband have flooded to Twitter - as one user put it either 'having a laugh or a panic attack' - over Kaleidoscope's blunder.

One outraged fan wrote: "WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT ONE DIRECTION TOUR TICKETS IN 2016 MENTIONED IN THE NETFLIX SERIES #KALEIDOSCOPE !!!??? THE FACT THAT 1D WENT ON HIATUS IN 2015 AND WEREN'T EVEN TOGETHER IN 2016!!??? ALSO THEY PLAYED MSG ONLY ONCE IN 2012 WTF IT HURTS BEING A DIRECTIONER."

"I HAD to go back on kaleidoscope cause I KNEW I SAW ONE DIRECTION on those damn tickets. 2016? smh," another wrote.

A third said: "Watching kaleidoscope and the woman is bribing the police officer with one direction tickets but please the 2016?"

A final questioned: "This gave me a headache like do they know something we don't???"

However, other viewers - and clearly not true Directioners - don't see the big deal.

One said: "NOBODY CARES."

A second wrote: "Because the rest of the world has a life. Get a grip for god almighty."

A third theorised: "It's not that deep. They are poking fun that their show literally not in one direction."
