Fans of The Boys are convinced the Amazon Prime show’s recent renewal announcement has sealed the fate of two major characters.

On 10 June, it was confirmed on The Boys’ official Twitter page that the show had been renewed for a fourth season.

The tweet read: “We're comin' back for Season 4. Til then here's a lil' fourshadowing,” and was accompanied by a photo of cast members Butcher (Karl Urban), Hughie (Jack Quaid), Homelander (Antony Starr), Starlight (Erin Moriarty), A-Train (Jessie T Usher), Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara), The Deep (Chase Crawford), Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit) and Marvin T (Laz Alonso).

However, one beloved character was missing from the lineup, leading fans to speculate that he’ll be killed off.

One person replied to The Boys’ tweet saying: “I don’t see Frenchie,” while another added: “I don't see Frenchie, WHY I don't see Frenchie?”

A third person tweeted: “So I guess that means Kimiko survives ep 4 lol,” with a fourth echoing: “Where is Frenchie? Then Kimiko is still alive?” Another wrote: “Don't see my Frenchie there... Where is he?”

Others were slightly peeved by the fact that The Boys’ tweet was spoiler-heavy, with one person tweeting in response: “So all these characters survive season three then.”

Another added: “Kind of a spoiler this pic no?... just confirmed a lack of deaths and a big death all in one post lol.”

“Maybe announce this after the current season, since this takes away any tension built around any of these characters possibly dying after the current 4 episodes....” said someone else.

The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke recently credited one of the show’s most graphic scenes to date with its renewal, saying in a statement that 'this is the first time in history that exploding genitalia has led to further success'.

Kripke was of course referring to *that* house party scene, in which Termite (a superhero played by Brett Geddes who has the power to shrink himself) ventures inside a partygoer’s penis before sneezing, pinging back to his normal size and killing the man whose junk he was in.

According to EW, Kripke’s statement read in full: “Speaking for the cast and crew, we're so grateful to Sony, Amazon, and most of all the fans for embracing the show and allowing us to make more.

“We're thrilled to continue Butcher and the Boys' fight against Homelander and the Seven, as well as comment on the insane world we're living in. Also, this is the first time in history that exploding genitalia has led to further success."
