Jamie Foxx and Snoop Dog’s crazy vampire movie has surged to the top of Netflix, with fans saying it is the 'funniest, jumpiest action packed' film of its kind.

Brought to you by ‘the guys who taught John Wick how to kick a**’, Day Shift is a new action-comedy that sees Jamie Foxx and Snoop Dogg team up with Dave Franco to slay vampires as part of a worldwide union - with supporting cast also including Karla Souza, Meagan Good, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Oliver Masucci, Steve Howey, Scott Adkins, and Zion Broadnax.

A synopsis from Netflix says: “Jamie Foxx stars as a hard working blue collar dad who just wants to provide a good life for his quick-witted daughter, but his mundane San Fernando Valley pool cleaning job is a front for his real source of income, hunting and killing vampires as part of an international Union of vampire hunters.”

As Netflix fan platform Tudum points out, the new flick has some seriously solid action credentials, having been directed by first-time filmmaker J.J. Perry, who previously served as a stunt coordinator and second unit director on films from F9: The Fast Saga to Bloodshot to John Wick: Chapter 2.

And that’s not it, either, as it was also produced by John Wick director Chad Stahelski, and written by Tyler Tice and Shay Hatten (Army of the Dead, John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum).

After dropping on Netflix on 12 August, the movie has shot to the top of the streaming site to become its number one film not just in the UK, but also countless other countries - followed by Purple Heart and The Gray Man in the second and third spots, respectively.

Day Shift has already taken the top spot.

Many people have sung its praises on Twitter, with some loving the fact it's been made by stunt experts, with Perry and Stahelski - both stuntmen - at the helm.

One viewer wrote: "Day Shift is exactly the kind of movie NF should be making more of. Super fun, action packed and some great humor!! Look out for this one!!"

Some are even calling for a sequel already:

One other fan tweeted: "Day Shift with Jamie Foxx Meagan Good and Snoop Dogg is so good! Definitely a must see on Netflix!!!"

Someone else said: "The first feature film directed by J.J Perry, one of the best action choreographers working today, just dropped on Netflix. It's called DAY SHIFT and you should watch it."

Another simply wrote: "Bro Day Shift on Netflix is fire."

Watch Day Shift on Netflix now.
