The 80-year-old Hollywood icon will take on the character of General Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross, a villain and enemy of The Hulk in the Marvel Comics universe.

Notably, Ford is not sporting Ross' trademark mustache, which Hurt's rendition of the character prominently had.

Ford has taken over the role from William Hurt, who died aged 71 on March 13, 2022.

Hurt was known well for his Academy Award-winning performance in Kiss of the Spider Woman.

He has also appeared in numerous Marvel Cinematic Universe films, such as The Incredible Hulk and Captain America: Civil War.

And, as his character wasn't done with the MCU, Ford has stepped in to take over.

According to CBR, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed that Ford’s take on the classic comic book character will have a bit of a different twist in the movies.

In the MCU, Thunderbolt Ross has been officially elected as the President of the United States.

How exciting.

"I like doing something different to what I've ever done and pleasing people with it."

Ford added: "So I'll try a piece of that."

But it wasn't just Ford who was spotted on the set of the upcoming MCU movie.
