Bryan Cranston has dropped a few big hints about a possible Malcolm in the Middle movie reboot, and it seems the entire original cast are keen to come back together for one last hurrah.

The Breaking Bad actor sat down with Entertainment Weekly to chat about his Super Bowl commercial, and the deadset legends at EW did not waste the opportunity to press the actor for more details on a potential reboot.

"I love that show," Cranston told EW.

"To me, it was the comedic flip side to Breaking Bad because of the quality of the writing."

Cranston then revealed that TV producer and Malcolm in the Middle creator Linwood Boomer is 'really considering' the idea.

Cranston continued: "He said - just like [Breaking Bad creator] Vince Gilligan would say - if there was a great idea that everybody got excited about, he would really consider doing it.

"And we're all onboard. All the actors said, 'Well, we'd love to see each other again', for those very same reasons."

Cranston added that while the prospect is tempting, he would like to see a reunion for 'a good reason'.

"I don't need a job. I don't want to just be busy. But I love to work, and I would love to reunite with that cast and that crew, and tell those stories in that character again," he said.

"To be able to slip into Hal again, at this age, all those years ago, [would be] phenomenal."

He added: "I'm thrilled at the prospect of it."

Well, there you go.

Everyone is apparently keen and on-board, so, Boomer, if you're reading this: please make it happen.

Cranston's comments are far from the first time he has spoken about a possible Malcolm in the Middle movie.

There has been chatter since 2020, but Cranston has been feeding fans tidbits as recently as January 2023.

He told E! News last month: "We had such a great family on that, and I certainly would be open to that if there was a good idea that came up - like, ‘Oh, that would be fantastic to explore what happened to this family 20 years later'.

"I can’t believe it’s already that, but that would be fun to do."

The Fox sitcom debuted on 9 January 2000 and ran for seven seasons before wrapping up in 2006 with Malcolm (Frankie Muniz) and Reese (Justin Berfield) graduating from high school.
