A man who is 'addicted' to cheese has spent over $70,000 on his delicious diet of dairy and likes to chomp his way through at least a couple of blocks a day.

It's really no secret that cheese is absolutely brie-lliant but even those who think it's grate must stand in awe of one man and his amazing ability to get through so much of the gouda stuff.

Mark King loves cheese so much that he gets through at least two blocks worth of it a day and would have more if his wife Tracey would let him.

One of his favorite meals is a 400g block of cheese in a sandwich, which he likes to have for lunch and again just before going to bed, and Tracey reckons that in the time she's known him he's spent a massive amount of cheddar on cheese.

She thinks that he spends £2,520 ($3,126) a year on his cheese habit and for as long as she's known him he's forked out over £63,000 (about $78,000) in total.

That is a mighty and magnificent stack of cheese, but Mark will soon have made his way through that.

He loves cheese so much that at this point all he needs to do now is pick up a knack for inventing and get a beagle called Gromit.

You might think a diet like this would be really unhealthy but the 54-year-old grandad is actually in great shape.

Some of that might be down to the physical demands of his job working as a logger at a timber yard but Tracey has said Mark manages to maintain a six-pack in part because doctors think his body has just become so used to cheese after years of eating it.

While Mark has been dubbed the 'Cheese King' for the absolutely crackers amount of cheddar he consumes, his wife doesn't even eat any herself.

Over the course of his life Mark has chewed his way through several tonnes of cheese and he's become such a sensation that major retailers now gift him big boxes of cheese to get him through the day.

Mark is just crackers about cheese, and he loves eating an entire block of cheese as a filling for a sandwich twice a day.

Mark has cheese with basically every meal, though he doesn't have macaroni cheese or cauliflower cheese because they're not cheesy enough for his liking.

In addition to his two cheese block sandwiches a day, the grandad also eats regular meals adorned with cheese.

Although pretty rare, it is actually possible for a person to die from eating too much cheese as a chap by the name of W.S. Fiddler discovered in 1913 when he dropped down dead aged 50 after acute indigestion caused heart failure.

He was said to 'eat cheese like it was going out of style', tucking into the stuff for every meal and a late night snack.
