Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine is "struggling to make ends meet" after his release from prison, according to comments made by the star in court documents and recent claims made by his business manager.

The US hip hop act explained in a sworn declaration to a judge overseeing a civil lawsuit regarding his involvement in a 2018 armed robbery that he is experiencing financial difficulties.

The rapper - who was formerly known as Tekashi69 and then as 6ix9ine, but whose real name is Daniel Hernandez - also said he doesn’t know if he’ll ever rake in the kind of money he did before being arrested that year.

In the court documents, which were obtained by Complex, Hernandez said: ‘Right now, I am struggling to make ends meet.

'I do not know if I will ever command the kind of advances I was paid before my arrest, and my career stalled.’

The 25-year-old also said his record deal with TenThousands Projects had expired, along with a merchandise deal.

He continued: ‘I did receive large advances under the recording artist and merchandising agreements prior to my arrest.

'However, I do not receive any royalties under those agreements either since my royalty accounts remain unrecouped.’

Now his business manager Wack 100 has also revealed that he had to send Hernandez money for gas, saying during a session on social audio app Clubhouse that he is ‘broke’.

Wack 100 said: ‘Yeah, he broke as a motherf***er. That n***a 6ix9ine ain’t got nothing!

'Man, that n***a over there doing bad. Bro, I had to send that n***a $20 for some gas.

'That’s why we was telling the people, “Ain’t really nothing we can do for you right now cause n***a broke-broke.”

'It’s f***ing terrible, man. Sad thing to see such a talented young man [like this].’

Hernandez was hit with a civil lawsuit last December for his role in the 2018 armed robbery, with plaintiffs Seketha Wonzer and Kevin Dozier saying he was present when Nine Trey Bloods gang members ambushed them.

Tekashi admitted to being involved with the robbery as part of his guilty plea during his criminal trial back in 2019.

In his declaration, he recalled: 'I stayed in the car while everything went down and started filming on my phone, but it was raining.

'The raindrops on the car window were blocking my view, so I opened the door of the car and continued filming.

'However, I never left the SUV and remained in the vehicle throughout the entire event.'
