Actor calls out influencers that cry on social media by explaining her 'bulls*** meter'

Tammin Sursok has slammed those who put on a performance for their followers

Former Home And Away star Tammin Sursok has called out influencers who film themselves crying on social media.

The South African-born Australian actor has slammed those who - in dark times - put on a performance for their followers.

Watch below as she explains how her 'bulls*** meter' works:

Featuring on an episode of her Women On Top podcast, the mum-of-two sat down with Luke Cook and discussed the importance of social media - and how it can be a tool to showcase raw emotion.

However, the 39-year-old could not get her head around the idea of picking up a camera when something terrible happens - admitting it's the 'last thing I would be thinking of'.

"When you are going through such severe pain... like if I got told that something happened to my husband or someone I loved died, the last thing I would be thinking of is a camera," Sursok said.

She then reveals her personal 'bulls*** meter' and how she uses it to 'call out' fakers.

"I think that's the call out, what would you do in that situation if someone told you that someone passed away," the actor said.

"Are you getting the camera out? And that's kind of the bulls**t metre, right?"

Sursok also explained the reason why she posted the video of her crying after receiving her miscarriage diagnosis when she got pregnant again.

"I have not recorded myself ever crying and putting it up but when I had a miscarriage my husband recorded it because we thought we were going to get good news and I cried," she said.

"It wasn't for the camera but I shared it when I had my second baby because it was so traumatic to me and I wanted people to know that there is light at the end of the tunnel, and it was very vulnerable."

The Pretty Little Liars star - who has been filming in Canada - recently explained how she misses being away from her family.

"Real talk for a second. I leave in three days to go shoot a movie in Canada," she told her followers.

"I'm so excited for this new experience and to play the lead in another film, is such a blessing.

"But I'm gonna be away from my kiddos and my husband for a while. And it still is really painful."
