Snow White Dwarf Actor Joins Calls Against Peter Dinklage Dwarfism Claims

Actor and bodybuilder Choon Tan has joined calls against Peter Dinklage's Snow White comments.

More people have spoken out following Peter Dinklage's comments on the Snow White live-action remake.

Dinklage initially brought up the remake on the WTF with Marc Maron podcast, remarking that while he had 'love and respect' for Latina actress Rachel Zegler - who was cast as Snow White - he couldn't agree with the film's premise.

Dinklage said the film 'makes no sense' and that Disney seemed to be moving forward in one area of representation and backwards in another, noting: 'You’re progressive in one way and you’re still making that f*cking backwards story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together, what the f*ck are you doing man?'.

Now, people are saying that Dinklage's comments have done more harm then good, with both WWE star Hornswoggle, aka Dylan Postl, and bodybuilder Choon Tan weighing in on the controversy.

Following Dinklage's comments, Disney issued a statement, saying: 'To avoid reinforcing stereotypes from the original animated film, we are taking a different approach with these seven characters and have been consulting with members of the dwarfism community'.

The company then revealed that the seven characters would be portrayed as 'magical creatures' who would be played by voice actors.

WWE's Postl was quick to comment on the situation on Twitter, writing: 'Oh! So take roles AWAY from the dwarf community?!', before branding Dinklage a 'god damned idiot'.

The star furthered his stance on the matter during interview on This Morning - where he was also joined by Tan - accusing Dinklage of 'taking dream roles away' from 'actors that dream of being in a Disney film'.

'By being progressive in his mind and what he was trying to do and says he is trying to do, is really doing the opposite and taking dreams away and potential roles from seven dwarf actors - I think it's a shame', Postl said.

Tan, who has featured in productions of Snow White, also shared his thoughts during the interview, saying that Dinklage's comments could have a 'knock-on effect to other productions that are scared to employ people who are little and or who have dwarfism in fear of being attacked or derogatory'.
