Adult film actor, Riley Reid, has explained the reason why she has now stopped shooting particular pornographic videos.

While Reid hasn't fully retired from the industry, she has quit filming the exact scenes that arguably launched her to stardom back in the 2010s.

Opening up about her abrupt shift in career, Reid revealed exactly why she will no longer star in boy-girl porn anymore. Check out her explanation here:

Talking on an episode of Jordyn Jones' What They Don't Tell You podcast, Reid revealed some details about her love life and how she navigates the world of dating alongside shooting porn.

When asked if she ever had any boyfriends, Reid explained: "Dating was really hard," before explaining that the hardest part was the 'persona' prospective partners had of her.

Reid went on to highlight the difficulties in finding love due to her line of work: "Especially as I grew a name for myself, it was hard to meet someone who [didn't] know who I was."

"And so," she continued, "there was always that, like, fandom."

Keen to distinguish between her stage name Riley Reid and her real-life identity, Ashley Matthews, she added: "They met me first in their mind as Riley, so it was really hard to like reverse and teach them that I'm Ashley."

Opening up about the treatment she's received when trying to enter romantic relationships, Reid said: "Being a pornstar - it's like 'You don't take her to meet your mom' and blah, blah, blah."

Reid has previously revealed that she was made to feel 'disgusting' by an ex-boyfriend because of her job.

During a 2018 episode of the Impaulsive podcast, Reid said one ex would refuse to kiss her after she returned home from work.

Explaining that the former boyfriend made her feel like a ‘disgusting person’, she revealed: "He made me feel like maybe I should quit and stuff."

"So, like, [it] made me feel like a disgusting person," she continued. "And I'm not disgusting! It's harsh. It was so horrible when he told me that."

Carrying on with her explanation on the Jordyn Jones podcast, Reid stated: "I didn't retire but I just stopped shooting boy-girl porn."

"It was a choice I made on my own but I made that choice because I was lonely and I wanted love and affection and stuff," she explained.

Reid revealed that she was 'not going to be able to find' such things 'while performing', hence her decision to rule out the scenes altogether, saying that it made dating 'really hard'.

"I've dated guys that were like 'Me or porn?' and I was like, 'porn never gave me this ultimatum, so I choose that.'" she concluded.

"So grateful to have a partner like you."

"You’re such an amazing husband to me and even better father to Emma. You’re so present in every moment with both of us and I am so happy to spend everyday with you," she praised.

Reid concluded the post saying: "Thank you for choosing me as your wife, best friend & life partner. Thank you Emma for being the greatest thing to ever happen to me. I adore and love you more than you’ll ever know."
