Rebel Wilson reveals Meghan Markle’s icy response to her mother’s bizarre line of questioning.

While appearing on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the comedian recalled her slightly awkward encounter with the Duchess of Sussex.

She disclosed: “[I] met Harry— couldn't have been nicer. But then Meghan was not as cool... she wasn't as naturally warm.”

The Pitch Perfect star said things only got worse when her mom jumped in.

“My mom, being Australian, just asked her all these like slightly rude questions. Like 'Where are your kids?' and things like that. And I'm like 'Mom don't ask her that,'" she added.

Hmm... funny how Harry didn’t get that question.

To which Cohen said: “Maybe that’s why she was stand-off-ish.”

Wilson replied: “Maybe that’s why she was like, ‘Who are these annoying convicts from Australia?’”

Or perhaps Wilson’s recent controversial trip to Dubai didn’t sit well with the royal either.

The actor’s comments were met with fierce backlash online, as one person on Twitter wrote: “How the hell did Rebel Wilson want Meghan Markle to react? I wouldn’t have been ‘naturally warm’ either if someone’s mom thought it was okay to be rude, invasive and a weirdo to me.

“The f**king audacity of white women.”

Another said: “Admitting your mom was being rude but still saying she wasn’t 'warm'…. like the call is coming from inside.”

A third commented: “Why would you publicly say this about a black woman who has been targeted with racism and misogyny for just existing? You know this will fuel the fire. You admitted your mom was asking weird questions!!”

While another shared: “Maybe Meghan remembered what Rebel said about her at the BAFTAs, I wouldn't be warm to someone making jokes about my mental health either.”

Wilson's comments come after the royal couple were invited to King Charles' coronation.

Over the weekend, following the Duke and Duchess being asked to vacate their Frogmore Cottage home in the UK, the two were invited to the event.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported that a spokesperson for the couple shared the news.

“I can confirm The Duke has recently received email correspondence from His Majesty’s office regarding the coronation,” the spokesperson said, as per the outlet.

“An immediate decision on whether The Duke and Duchess will attend will not be disclosed by us at this time.”

Buckingham Palace has yet to comment.
