Singer Ray J has claimed Kanye West didn't know Kim Kardashian already owned her sex tape after an episode of The Kardashians portrayed the rapper collecting it for her.
Kim was seen praising Kanye in a recent episode of the new Hulu series, telling her family her ex-husband had 'got [her] all of the sex tape back'.
She described Kanye flying to meet her former partner Ray J and collecting 'the computer it was on and the hard drive'. However, Ray refuted the claims as he responded to a post about the storyline on Instagram, writing: "All of this is a lie [shaking my head] – Can’t let them do this anymore – so untrue."
In an interview with MailOnline, Ray claimed he and Kanye had spoken for two hours on the phone on 5 October, 2021, as the rapper 'wanted to get back the tapes he assumed [Ray] had'.

The singer alleged he had teamed up with Kim and Kris Jenner to release the original tape and said Kim failed to mention this to her former husband, saying: ‘Kim didn’t tell him, 'Look I put the tape out with Ray J, it was a business deal, we both ran it together, we were business partners and we still are business partners. There’s really no problem with Ray J'. Khloe, Kendall and Kylie and Kourtney – they don’t have a clue that this is a lie either."
Ray said he agreed to meet Kanye on the condition that the exchange would be kept private, but with the sex tape allegedly already in Kim's possession, Ray handed Kanye a laptop containing ‘intimate’ photos and texts exchanged between himself and Kim between 2006 and 2009.
He also claimed he told the rapper the original tape had been released by himself, Kim and Kris, adding: "I gave it to him in a private terminal at the back of Los Angeles airport, in a private room where we talked for four hours. I gave him everything I had, I showed him everything I had – he sat on the floor and he watched everything I gave him.

"It was everything I felt could have been looked at negatively. It was text messages with me and Kim over the years, it was a lot of different pictures we sent to each other over the years after the sex tape.
"I was showing him these timelines and letting him know that everything that’s been said to him is not true. I was thinking that he was ready to listen and understand what I’ve been trying to say. But the whole time, he wasn’t really listening to me and he was eager to get back on a plane and back to the Hulu show."
Ray said he didn't want anyone to know about his meeting with Kanye because he was 'genuinely trying to make peace' and he felt he and Kanye could 'build from this', but he claimed it 'totally went in one ear and out the other'.

In The Kardashians, Kris Jenner speculated Kanye had handed Ray J ‘a big fat check’ during their exchange. Kanye said he hadn't paid Ray, though Ray said he never asked for any money in the first place.
After all he has been through in relation to the Kardashians, Ray says he no longer cares how much money he makes or loses, and instead is more interested in protecting his family.
"Whatever they’re going to do to me now after I told my truth, it’s all good because now I feel like I can breathe," he said.
