Wright has lived in her home on Hilton Head, South Carolina, for the past 30 years and she and her husband retired from their jobs in New York City, USA Today reports.
Her husband died in 1998, however she is frequently visited at her ‘sanctuary’ by her 16 children, 40 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren.
Now her sanctuary is under threat as property developers plan to force Wright out of her home more than 150 years since her family acquired the land.

Bailey Point Investment owns land on every side of her 1.8-acre property after acquiring it in 2014.
They’re planning on developing a 147-home subdivision in the area and the company tried to buy Wright’s home for just $39,000, she said.
The great-great grandmother has refused to sell her home and she’s putting up a legal fight. A GoFundMe has been created to help Wright with her legal fees and it has already surpassed $272,000 in donations.
Snoop Dogg is the latest celebrity to donate to the cause, with the chart-topping rapper posting about the donation on Instagram.
