'More Than My Hometown' singer Morgan Wallen can be seen smiling in his mugshot after he was arrested following an incident in Nashville.

Wallen, 30, had been at Chiefs Bar in downtown Nashville, Tennessee on Sunday (7 April) when he allegedly threw a chair off the roof of the bar on to the street below.

Two officers were already in the area and were standing in front of the bar when the chair landed approximately three feet away from them after falling six storeys.

The officers spoke with security at the bar to find out what happened, and were allegedly told that Wallen was responsible for throwing the chair off the roof.

According to an arrest warrant cited by WKRN, officers then reviewed video footage of the incident which showed Wallen throwing an object off the roof.

Witnesses also told officers they had been standing with Wallen when they saw him 'pick up the chair [and] throw it over him, laughing afterward'.

Following the incident, Wallen was taken into custody by police and charged with three counts of reckless endangerment for the two officers who had been standing by the bar and for the danger to the public.

Wallen has also been charged with disorderly conduct.

A mugshot shared by Metro Nashville Police Department showed the singer smiling broadly at the camera following his arrest, when he was booked into Metro Jail in the early hours of Monday morning.

Wallen's bond was set at $15,250. He was released from jail just hours after his arrest.

Wallen's attorney, Worrick G. Robinson of Worrick Robinson Law, confirmed the arrest in a statement to News 2, saying: "At 10:53p[m] Sunday evening Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is cooperating fully with authorities."

Wallen's arrest comes after he caused controversy in 2021 when a video showed him using a racial slur.

A number of radio stations and streaming services pulled his music as a result of the incident, which Wallen later apologized for in a video shared to his social media pages.

The singer also donated $300,000 to the Black Music Action Coalition.

Wallen is next set to appear in court on 3 May, according to Davidson County Criminal Court - a date which just so happens to coincide with Wallen's tour, which is scheduled to arrive at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville on 2 May.
