Jennifer Aniston explained why she doesn't seem to age as she celebrates 56th birthday

The Morning Show star Jennifer Aniston is celebrating another year around the Sun, but somehow she continues to defy the effects of ageing.

Just like her former Friends co-star Paul Rudd, Aniston simply refuses to age - maybe it's a sitcom thing?

The actor turns 56 today (February 11), and fans have flooded social media to wish her a happy birthday, with many posts featuring screenshots and clips from some of her iconic acting moments.

After firmly establishing herself as Hollywood royalty in the role of Rachel in Friends, Aniston has since gone on to star in titles like Marley & Me, Horrible Bosses and Murder Mystery, as well as her more recent role as morning show presenter Alex Levy in Apple TV's The Morning Show.

Images from all of these eras are being used to celebrate Aniston's birthday, but somehow her appearance barely seems to change one year to the next.

It's an achievement a lot of people strive for, and thankfully the actor has previously spoken out about how she takes care of her mind and body.

She praised the effects of exercise, saying she feels 'really beautiful' after a workout, knowing she's 'taken care of [her] body, [her] endorphins are going, [her] blood is pumping'.

"I’m taking care of the one body I have," she said.

In an interview with Vogue, Aniston also spoke about being mindful about the kind of information she takes in, to help her focus on what's important.

As part of this process, she refrains from looking at her phone first thing in the morning, saying: "I don’t look at my phone for at least the first hour after waking up.

"The mental difference this makes impacts the whole day. I have my chargers in a drawer six feet away from my bed and I have a little iPod or iPhone from 1912 that I swiped clean and strictly use for my alarms and my sleep apps."

As well as limiting her phone time, Aniston also makes sure to take breaks from social media, describing the platforms as 'toxic'.

She explained: "I understand the innocence of how it was birthed and the intention was to bring people together and create a social community. And that’s lovely, but you have to take the good with the bad—that people just sit there and throw emotional knives at other people on these platforms."

And finally, when it comes to beauty products, Aniston made clear that she doesn't collaborate with any brands unless she truly believes in what they're offering. She's previously aligned herself with health brand Vital Proteins, which Aniston discovered after her doctor suggested adding collagen supplements to her routine.

“My joints, my nails, my hair, my skin everything just started to improve,” she said, noting our collagen production starts to decline as we age.

With her 56th birthday now upon her, Aniston has also described ageing as a 'privilege'.
