Jamie Lynn Spears tried to emancipate parents after they wanted her to have abortion

I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! is officially underway as a bunch of famous faces head to Australia to spend three weeks living off rice and beans.

Of course, regular viewers of the show will be well aware I'm a Celeb is a whole lot more than that as it provides great entertainment heading into the festive season.

One of the celebs to enter the jungle this year is Britney Spears' sister, Jamie Lynn Spears.

And as there is not much to keep you occupied in the Australian jungle, the celebs tend to have long conversations, revealing some things to the public we were previously unaware of.

On Monday's episode of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, First Dates host Fred Sirieix and Spears had quite an emotional conversation.

"Your sister is obviously a superstar, you’re a superstar, why? How come the both of you, what made it? Sirieix initially asked.

"I think every family fights and has their stuff but I talked to her before I came here and we love each other," Spears replied.

"Oh, I always say this. My mumma, not in a cocky way at all, my mum literally believed we were the best in the world.

"After I finished Zoey, I had my love of my life, what I thought, I decided to keep the baby. I was 16. The whole world was like, ‘You’re a s**t, you’re horrible your life is over…’”

Spears then spoke about falling pregnant when she was 16, something she has previously detailed having problems with her parents with at the time in her 2021 book, Things I Should Have Said.

Speaking on the ITV show, Spears revealed: "They didn’t want me to have the baby. A lot of people around me.

"When I got out of that, I told my parents I was going to emancipate them, that way I could make my own decisions. I was secretly telling her I was going to doctor's appointments. I was going to meetings with a lawyer… My poor mum, we put her through it.

"And so then she was like, she didn’t want me to do that, she knew that would mean I’d probably marry the father and lose my fortune that I’d amassed over the years of working… she said, ‘Just go baby…’. It was the first time I was in control. My mum did [come and visit]. I don’t know what’s wrong with me, why I wouldn’t take the easy route sometimes, but I just don’t want to."
