Jada Pinkett Smith shows her hair making a 'come back' as she continues to battle alopecia

The actor said there are still some 'trouble spots' but has been encouraged by the regrowth.

Jada Pinkett Smith has revealed her hair is making a 'come back' as she battles alopecia.

The actor has been open about her condition that causes hair loss in one part or multiple parts of the body.

She discussed it for the first time back in 2018 during a Red Table Talk episode.

It followed a lot of speculation about the 51-year-old's fashion choices and whether something was going on.

Smith said: "A lot of people have been asking why I've been wearing turbans. Well, I haven't talked about it. It's not easy to talk about, but I am going to talk about it.

"I was in the shower one day and had just handfuls of hair in my hands and I was just like, 'Oh my God, am I going bald?'"

She continued: "It was one of those times in my life where I was literally shaking in fear. That's why I cut my hair, and why I continue to cut it."

Jada proudly showed off her bald hair at last year's Academy Awards and it ended up becoming a joke that sparked a million headlines.

Chris Rock remarked on stage that Jada looked like she was preparing for a role in a G.I. Jane movie and Will Smith jumped to her defence.

Not only did he yell at the comedian but he also went on stage and slapped him on the face.

In the time since all that, Jada has noticed her hair has slowly started to grow out.

She's posted on Instagram a selfie showing a decent amount of regrowth on her head.

Jada uploaded two snaps to her account, one that showed her with a bald head that she labeled 'past' and the new one showing her hair had been dyed that said 'present'.

"This here hair is act’n like it’s try’n a make a come back," she told her 11 million followers.

"Still have some trouble spots but — we’ll see."

When she revealed she was battling alopecia back in 2018, she explained that hair meant a lot to her.

“My hair has been a big part of me,” she said.

“Taking care of my hair has been a beautiful ritual and having the choice to have hair or not.

"And then one day to be like, ‘Oh my god, I might not have that choice anymore'."

However, she celebrated Bald is Beautiful day last year and let people all around the world know that they are amazing with or without hair.
