Hugh Jackman has started on a 'bombshell' memoir where he's 'finally honest with himself'

Hugh Jackson has writing a memoir that will be filled with 'bombshells' in the wake of the break down of his marriage to Deborra-Lee Furness

Hugh Jackman is in the process of writing a bombshell-filled memoir.

The Wolverine star doesn't share much about his private life, but he's now said to be in the early stages of penning his own book.

The move comes after the shock announcement last month that Jackman and his wife of 27 years, Deborra-Lee Furness, are divorcing.

"We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,” a joint statement issued to PEOPLE magazine read at the time.

“Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.

"Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives."

The pair share son Oscar, 23, and daughter Ava, 18, together.

In light of the news of the breakdown of his marriage, The Greatest Showman star is apparently finding the writing process 'healing'.

"Hugh’s choosing to [write this book] now because he’s finally [being] honest with himself [and] the divorce - and this book is the first step," an insider told US Weekly.

They added that the 54-year-old is only in the 'early stages' of his memoir.

But the divorce isn't the only thing Jackman will reportedly be discussing in his book - he'll also be sharing other bombshells about his life.

"He’ll be opening up about his life like never before," the insider continued as they explained that the memoir has been 'healing for him'.

As Jackman begins his book, Furness has remained largely quiet in the wake of their split, but spoke out on a radio show where she thanked the hosts for their support.

Aussie radio hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O Henderson accidentally called the actress, but instead of asking her about her spilt from Jackman, they simply shared their love to her.

"Now you’re here, we won’t go into it. We love you, we hope you’re well," they said, to which Furness replied: "Thank you guys, I really appreciate it. You’re really sweet.”

Elsewhere, while speaking to paparazzi, Jackman said it was a 'difficult time' for him and his family.

The celebrity couple wed in Melbourne in 1996 less than a year after meeting one another. Four years later they adopted their first child, Oscar, before adopting Ava in 2005.

After years of putting on a happy display in the public eye, the news of their split shook the showbiz world.

UNILAD has contacted Jackman's representative for comment.
