Emma Roberts says she'll never date an actor again after Evan Peters relationship

Emma Roberts has admitted she will never date an actor again, revealing why she finds it 'extremely difficult'.

The daughter of Oscar-winning actor Eric Roberts, and niece of Hollywood star Julia Roberts, has candidly opened up about her dating life.

The 33-year-old's most well known relationship was with actor Evan Peters after they met on the set of Adult World.

The pair went on to have an on and off romance from 2012 until 2019 - even getting engaged.

She then went on to date actor-musician Garrett Hedlund for almost three years, and in that time welcomed baby Rhodes Robert Hedlund into the world, but split in 2022.

Without naming any names, Roberts told Flaunt: “One day the veil was lifted and I didn’t want to date actors anymore.

“It’s hard, I think, for two actors to be together. I’m trying to think if I’ve seen it done successfully.

"Also, the actors I’ve been with border on method actors, and that is something that I think is extremely difficult to be in a relationship with - at least for me, especially the characters that they were playing.”

During her time with Peters, he took on the role of a number of creepy characters for iconic TV series American Horror Story.

After they finished dating, he went on to play Jeffrey Dahmer in Netflix series Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, in which he has been open about his method acting for the role.

Now, Roberts is dating an unnamed man, and lives with her mom outside New York City.

While she won't share much about her lover, she told Flaunt he was not an actor and is not 'online'.

Roberts' relationship with the platform, and social media as a whole, has become complicated.

She used to only be recognized if she visited the mall, but that soon changed with technology.

The actor said: “I feel like, in a way I got to hang on to some innocence longer [than usual].

“I know everyone has a different take on how [modern] celebrities or people should be online and how serious they should be.

"My social media is for fun, it’s for reading, it’s for fashion, but if you want to get really deep with me or know what I think about things, you’re not going to see it posted on my social media.”
