Bill Gates' daughter Phoebe has detailed one of the most difficult parts of being a 'nepo baby' amid her father's wealth and success.

The Microsoft founder is one of the richest individuals on the planet, having taken the tech industry by storm.

Phoebe, Gates' 22-year-old daughter, has made a name for herself in her own right, having garnered thousands of followers on TikTok and even setting up her own podcast.

Tilted Burnouts, Phoebe hosts alongside business partner Sophia Kianni, with the pair discussing a variety of different topics to their audiences.

Phoebe spoke in the opening episode of her new podcast that she felt 'such a desire to prove myself' amid the notorious 'nepo baby' tag.

"I was like, I have so much privilege. I’m a nepo baby," she said, before adding 'insecurity' had mounted up after being labelled with such a term.

Phoebe has previously stated the worst part of being in the public eye is the false opinions others seem to have about her life, her family, and her dad.

She told The Information the greatest downside to posting on the social media app was the 'misconceptions and conspiracy theories'.

"I'm pretty realistic that people start following me because of my family name. And people probably find it funny to see my dad being a goof and playing Boxbollen," Phoebe said.

"But once they follow me, they stick around, and I think some of that is because of the issues that I post about, like women's health. And honestly, TikTok is fun."

After graduating from her studies, Phoebe has shot onto the fashion scene after concluding a degree in human biology last year.

Melinda French Gates, Phoebe's mother, made her realise she could make something of herself after seeing Stella McCartney's success in her own right, despite having The Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney as her father.

Phoebe told WWD: " Her and my mom are actually good friends. Even when I was little she would send me stuff and little notes and I’d be so excited. I’ve been asking my mom forever and ever if I could meet with her."

"I felt very connected to her [Stella], I feel like because she’s been able to use the platform she had, because of who her dad is, and then she took that and instead of being like, ‘Oh, people define me by this,’ she took it and she was like, ‘OK, I have this immense privilege, now I’m going to use it to leverage something'."
