Ashton Kutcher addresses long-standing rumor he and wife Mila Kunis 'don't shower'

Ashton Kutcher has addressed years-long speculation that he and wife Mila Kunis don't shower in the traditional sense.

It was back in July 2021, when Kunis discussed her hygiene habits on Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast.

"I don’t wash my body with soap every day. But I wash pits and tits and holes and soles," she admitted.

Kutcher also joined the discussion on the podcast, stating: "I wash my armpits and my crotch daily, and nothing else ever. I got a bar of Lever 2000 that just delivers every time. Nothing else."

The couple also said they don't bathe their two children every day, leading to a huge debate on social media and internet forums.

The likes of Dwayne Johnson and Cardi B even weighed in on the talk, in what had become a long-running discussion surrounding bathing.

And some four-and-a-half years on, Kutcher has admitted the comments got a bit out of hand.

Speaking with People in a joint interview with Anthony Ramos and Jeremy Pope on Monday (January 19), the 47-year-old said: "It was the craziest thing of all time. We made a comment at one point, and people were like, ‘Does he stink? Does he smell?'"

The actor is then said to have turned to his Beauty co-stars to explain the whole fiasco.

He said: "There was a comment on a podcast, so long ago … and people are like, ‘They don’t shower.’ I’m like, ‘I shower, I go to the gym, I shower.'"

Ramos, meanwhile, backed up Kutcher's comments, stating the actor does indeed have showers. I mean, that's good to know.

Kunis previously to E! News about the bathroom process in her home, stating the ‘doors are always open in [their] house', including the one for the bathroom - something that has helped them all normalise 'bodily functions'.

Kunis added: “We have no closed doors in our house and that includes the bathroom.

“It’s just one of those where, for better or for worse, as a family and the kids have all kind of embodied bodily function as a very standard norm.”

She continued: "I’d never thought that I would be the person that was able to go to the bathroom with the door open.”

Kunis went on to say that, even when the bathroom door was shut, it ‘never made a difference’ as her family would continually knock on the front door ‘every two seconds’.
