Madonna rips into people who criticised how she looked at the Grammy Awards

She called out the 'ageism and misogyny that permeates the world we live in'.

Madonna is sick of people commenting on how she looks rather than what she does.

The legend was one of dozens of singers, producers, musicians and A-listers who attended the 65th Grammy Awards this week.

She appeared on stage to introduce Sam Smith and Kim Petras before they performed their song 'Unholy', which won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance earlier in the evening.

While she was celebrating the two for pushing boundaries in music, people couldn't help but comment on her face.

One person wrote: "Sad what Madonna's done to herself because she looks like she's wearing a prosthetic mask or Halloween false face."

Another added: " I really wish Madonna never touched her face. There really was no reason. She was going to age beautifully. She's always been beautiful."

A third said: "Was that the Madame Tussauds Madonna? Her face looks waxy."

However, she's hit back at those critics and said these types of comments represent a larger societal problem with how we look at women as they age.

She even went as far as calling the bad messages misogynistic.

Madonna uploaded a video to Instagram showing her hanging out with some of the big names on the night.

She looked like she was having fun and partying the night away, however she used the caption to send a message to her haters.

"Instead of focusing on what I said in my speech which was about giving thanks for the fearlessness of artists like Sam and Kim- Many people chose to only talk about Close-up photos of me Taken with a long lens camera By a press photographer that Would distort anyone’s face!!" she said on Instagram.

"Once again I am caught in the glare of ageism and misogyny That permeates the world we live in.

"A world that refuses to celebrate women pass the age of 45 And feels the need to punish her If she continues to be strong willed, hard-working and adventurous.

"I have never apologized for any of the creative choices I have made nor the way that I look or dress and I’m not going to start.

"I have been degraded by the media since the beginning of my career but I understand that this is all a test and I am happy to do the trailblazing so that all the women behind me can have an easier time in the years to come.

"In the words of Beyonce 'You-won’t break my soul'.

"I look forward to many more years of subversive behavior -pushing boundaries-Standing up to the patriarchy -and Most of all enjoying my life."

She ended her tirade with another Beyoncé lyric and told everyone to 'bow down b***hes'.
