Comments have resurfaced about Kim Kardashian's marriage to Kris Humphries where the reality star seems to compare their union to cancer.

Kardashian and Humphries were married in August 2011, it lasted 72 days, with the star filing for divorce in October that year.

The comments have re-surfaced as Kardashian drew criticism for a recent Variety interview, in which she offered advice for women in business.

Now, comments she made regarding her marriage with Humphries have resurfaced and were shared on Reddit yesterday (10 March).

In an interview with The Guardian in 2012, Kardashian talked about the 'lessons she learned' from the marriage.

When asked if she felt pressured into marrying Humphries with her life being the subject of a reality TV show, Kardashian said: 'Not really. We had done filming our season at that point, so we decided to film for the wedding. And that was a decision that he and I made together.

'But I think that, with any decisions in life, like, I spoke to a girl today who had cancer and we were talking about how this is such a hard thing for her, but it taught her a big lesson on who her friends are and so much about life.

'She's 18. And I was like, that's how I feel.'

People weren't happy with the comment, with one user on Reddit noting: 'Reminds me of when she commented on Britney’s conservatorship.

'Everything doesn’t need to be about you. How are people this self-absorbed and not self-aware?'

Another added: 'Tone deafness has been through the roof time and again.'

The comments have resurfaced as Kardashian has been criticised for making comments similar to Molly-Mae Hague's 'we all have the same 24 hours in a day' earlier this week.

In an interview with Variety, Kardashian offered her advice for women in business to 'get your f***ing a** up and work'.

The comments sparked criticism online, with actor Jameela Jamil pointing out that the remarks disregard people's individual experience.

Jamil said in a tweet about the comment: 'I think if you grew up in Beverly Hills with super successful parents in what was simply a smaller mansion… nobody needs to hear your thoughts on success/work ethic.

'This same 24 hours in the day s*** is a nightmare. 99.9% of the world grew up with a VERY different 24 hours.'

While Jamil noted that the Kardashians were a 'super impressive family of business women' and have done a lot of 'hard work', people didn't need to hear their 'secret to success'.

Jamil added: 'I hope nobody holds themselves to the standards of people who were raised by millionaires.'

The controversy surrounding Kardashian comes as she continues to pursue her divorce from Kanye West, who also sparked criticism last week with his music video for the song 'Eazy', which shows him kidnapping and killing a claymation version of Pete Davidson.
