A source close the Kardashians has denied accusations that they faked the sex scene revelation in their new show The Kardashians.

One of the central scenes for the Keeping Up With The Kardashians reboot is a bombshell moment in which Kim’s six-year-old son Saint West stumbles upon an ad for his mum’s infamous sex tape

The ad came up while he was playing Roblox on his iPad, showing the 41-year-old crying alongside a note hinting at ‘unreleased footage’ of her 2007 sex tape with ex-partner Ray J.

In the clip, a distressed Kim says: "The last thing I want as a mum is for my past to be brought up 20 years later."

She adds: "It’s real embarrassing s**t. I need to deal with it, and will deal with it."

The reality star was then filmed calling her attorney and assuring them that she is '99.9 percent sure no other tape exists.'

A number of people have accused the Kardashians of faking the storyline in order to draw in viewers over on social media.

In addition, an independent Roblox developer known as Zomebody told BBC News: "The chances of 'accidentally' stumbling upon a game like that are astronomically small.

"There are two potential ways for Saint to have found such a game - either he or the family actively searched for (or even created) such a game or someone else in their group of peers created it and then shared it directly with the boy."

While the Kardashians and the production company Fulwell 73 didn’t provide an on-the-record comment about this, a source close to the family insisted to the BBC that the scene was not faked.

Saint is one of the 200 million monthly users of the Roblox platform who play mini-games together and chat to each other.

The scene in question sees Kim so distressed that she calls her ex-husband Kanye West for advice.

"It's not OK though, it's not. Saint was on Roblox yesterday and a f***ing thing popped up and he started laughing and it was a picture of my cry face," she says.

Hulu

"It was a game that someone made of Roblox and it said 'Kim's New Sex Tape' when you clicked on it.

"Thank god he can't f**king read yet. And it's like over my dead body is this s**t going to happen to me again. I just want it gone.

"This is not gonna f**k with me. It's not, so I just want it gone."
