Kanye West doesn’t think police killed George Floyd by kneeling on his neck

West had made some pretty wild claims after watching a 'documentary' made by alt-right figurehead Candace Owens.

Kanye West doesn’t believe George Floyd was killed by police officer Derek Chauvin kneeling on his neck.

The controversial rapper told a YouTube podcast channel that Floyd’s death, which sparked a resurgence in the Black Lives Matter movement, was due to drugs.

West sat down with the podcasters from Drink Champs to reveal what he had gleaned from the George Floyd 'documentary' The Greatest Lie Ever Sold: George Floyd and the Rise of BLM, made by alt-right figurehead Candace Owens.

Owens appeared alongside West at his show at Paris Fashion Week adorned in one of the rapper's controversial 'White Lives Matter' shirts.

West, who now prefers to be known as 'Ye', said he believes the ultra-dangerous drug fentanyl was the cause for Floyd's death, not lack of oxygen.

"I watched the George Floyd documentary that Candace Owens put out," West told Drink Champs.

"One of the things that his two roommates said was they want a tall guy like me, and the day that he died, he said a prayer for eight minutes."

The 45-year-old added: "They hit him with fentanyl. If you look, the guy’s knee wasn’t even on his neck like that."When he said 'momma', 'momma' is his girlfriend.

"It's in the documentary."

Floyd was killed on May 25, 2020 after police officer Derek Chauvin kneeled on his neck for more than nine minutes.

The court found that Floyd had died from a lack of oxygen, but he did have traces of fentanyl in his system at his time of death.

Following Floyd’s death, Chauvin was charged with second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder and manslaughter.

He went down for 22-and-a-half years in prison for unreasonable use of force.

West's latest bizarre comments did not go down well on social media, with many lashing out at the controversial rapper.

One Twitter user said: "I am just gonna say, I hope George Floyd’s family sues Kanye West for emotional damage and for spreading lies."

A second added: "Kanye West literally defended slavery, why is anybody surprised about him denying that cop killed George Floyd now."

A third lashed out with: "George Floyd didn’t pass away — he was murdered on film by white supremacist. The fact that Kanye West is a black man telling this lie to another black man — on a black media outlet — and no one checked him — [tells] you that black celebrities are tools used by our real enemies."

In the same interview with Drink Champs, West also named Drake as 'the greatest rapper of all time' and implied he had slept with West's former mother-in-law Kris Jenner.

Representatives for West and George Floyd have been approached for comment.
