Chris Hemsworth and Chris Pratt respond to Jeremy Renner’s snow plough accident

Jeremy Renner was hit by his own snow plough and is now receiving treatment in hospital.

Jeremy Renner’s Marvel co-stars are sending messages of support following his snow plough accident on Sunday (1 January).

The 51-year-old actor was helping clear neighbours’ driveways when he was hit by a 14,000lb snow plough. He has since undergone two surgeries at a Nevada hospital.

The father-of-one was airlifted to hospital and his representatives confirmed he was in a ‘critical but stable’ condition after news of the accident first arose.

Renner has now shared a selfie from his hospital bed to thank fans for their support as he recovers.

In the post, shared on Tuesday (3 January), the actor wrote: “Thank you all for your kind words. I’m too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all.”

And The Avengers assembled in the comments to show their support, with Thor actor Chris Hemsworth and Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt sharing positive messages.

Hemsworth said: “Speedy recovery buddy. Sending love your way!” while Pratt commented: “Continued prayers your way brutha.”

Chris Evans responded: "Tough as nails. Love you buddy."

Renner’s co-star in the Disney+ series Hawkeye, Alaqua Cox, posted two love heart emojis.

The love didn’t end there however, as Marvel directors Taika Waititi and the Russo brothers also left supportive messages for the Avengers: Age of Ultron star.

“My brother I love you,” commented Waititi.

While the Russo Brothers shared: “Sending all of our love, brother, and hopes for a speedy recovery.”

And yesterday (3 January), Mark Ruffalo took to his Instagram stories to say that he was wishing Renner a 'full and speedy recovery' and asked fans to send 'healing goodness his way'.

A representative for Renner confirmed that the actor had suffered injuries to his chest and remains in intensive care.

They told Deadline: "We can confirm that Jeremy has suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries and has undergone surgery today, January 2nd 2023.

"He has returned from surgery and remains in the intensive care unit.

Renner is best known for his role as Hawkeye in the MCU.

"Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families.

"They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans.”

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office confirmed in a statement that they 'responded to a traumatic injury in the area of Mt Rose Highway in Reno, Nevada'.

They also revealed that the Dahmer actor was the only person involved in the incident and an investigation is underway into finding the cause.
