In case you somehow missed the Emmy Awards this week, a green goblin stole the spotlight on the red carpet and they have now spoken out.

Just to give a quick update, the Emmys, held on January 16, was a great display of glamor and beauty from a slew of celebrities except for one person.

This particular individual decided to come as a green goblin, dressed head-to-toe in green, with the large nose, pointy ears and wrinkled skin.

The unexpected look quickly went viral on social media as many questioned what on earth was going on.

“Sorry is anyone gonna talk about the green goblin that was on the red carpet for the Emmy’s,” one user wrote on X.

"At the Emmy’s…who invited that green goblin?!" another questioned.

The mysterious person behind all the makeup and prosthetics was later revealed to be RuPaul’s Drag Race star Princess Poppy.

Speaking to the Paper, Poppy has explained their motives behind the brazen stunt.

“Well, when they invited me to the Emmys, I had not done drag since April, when I announced to the world that I was quitting. And I've stayed true to that,” they said.

“I've given up all my material possessions of drag. So, I really had actually nothing to wear, and decided that I wanted to literally and figuratively troll the Emmys. People thought I was a goblin, I was going for troll, but I feel like they're in the same in the same family."

The former drag star also explained how celebrities reacted when they saw them on the red carpet. Quite possibly the greatest photo bomb incident at the Emmys.

Poppy added: “When I was walking with the other drag queens, I had like, a mob of people following me with cameras, like their phones.

“I think they were just very confused as to what I even was. But then when I got with my other contestants, people put it together.

“But the most notable people... Jennifer Coolidge. She was mumbling to herself. Like, 'What is that?' And then she reached out and was like, 'I absolutely love your look'.

“I said, 'I'm one of the mean gays, or one of the evil gays that you were discussing'. She loved that.

"Daniel Radcliffe. He loved it. And I think it was his wife too, they were just dying. Then Christina Ricci said I was disgusting, but in the most like, endearing and lovely way possible."

Poppy also explained that only a few people knew they were coming, and even fewer knew they were coming as a green goblin, quite a way to make an entrance you have got to admit.
