Where some new members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame might simply say 'thank you' and move on, Eminem has left fans well and truly baffled with his response to his induction.
The 'Lose Yourself' rapper joined the likes of AC/DC, The Clash, Bob Dylan and the Foo Fighters as he became a member of the Hall of Fame when the organisation announced his induction on 4 May.
Eminem was praised in a release which described him as 'the single best-selling artist of the 2000s' with 'unparalleled talent' and a 'world-renowned status', but the rapper stayed quiet on the news until the early hours of this morning (8 May).
Rather than release a statement of acknowledgement or share a tweet gushing over the honour, Eminem used the Minions to help recognise his induction.

Yes, you did read that right; Minions, as in the yellow characters who work with Gru in the film Despicable Me.
The musician took to Twitter to share a piece of artwork which showed a cartoon version of himself standing in front of a crowd of Minions, most of who stood with their yellow arms crossed and a proud smirk on their face.
The scene in itself has no reference to the Hall of Fame, but an incorporated caption read: "The Minions congratulate Eminem. Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2022."
Alongside the image, Eminem wrote: "@minions got my back. Shout out to Gru and them…"
I think it's safe to say the rapper is the first person to ever use the Minions to acknowledge their induction to the Hall of Fame, and as a result fans couldn't quite get their heads around his response.

Responding to Eminem's tweet, one person wrote: "You are so random??? What is this????," while another commented: "I never in the world would've thought someone like Eminem would tweet something like this lmao."
A third wrote: "This is the craziest s**t I’ve seen in my life."
Though admittedly entirely confusing, Eminem's response to the news of his induction goes some way in supporting the comments made about him on the Hall of Fame website, which reads: "Art that stands the test of time often makes people uncomfortable and questions the status quo, and no one shakes people to their core quite like Eminem."

Given the responses to Eminem's post, it's clear that he's succeeded yet again in shaking people to their core.
