Fans are convinced that they already know who will win the 2022 World Cup final today thanks to the fabled ‘Drake Curse’ after the rapper placed a huge bet who he thinks will win.

If you’re not aware of the rumoured curse that follows the Canadian rapper around, then you probably should be.

Obviously it's absolute nonsense, but it’s well worth checking out some of the sporting stars and teams that he has famously laid his ‘curse’ upon because it’s a stellar list.

Basically, if you have your picture taken with Drake, or he decides to bet on your team, there’s a good chance that you’re going to lose.

It started – sort of – back in 2013 when Drake became involved with his local NBA team, the Toronto Raptors. Since then, they’ve garnered a bit of a reputation for being choke artists in the big fixtures.

Barcelona even had Drake's logo on their kit.

In combat sports, he’s also laid down some bad omens on Conor McGregor, who was beaten by Khabib Nurmagomedov, as well as Anthony Joshua, who was beaten by Andy Ruiz Jr.

Interestingly enough, Tyson Fury proved himself immune to the curse, winning even with Drake’s backing. So did the Golden State Warriors, so perhaps there is still hope.

In the football world, Sergio Aguero, Jadon Sancho, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, and teams such as Barcelona, Paris Saint Germain and Liverpool have all been unfortunate after being spotted with Drake.

AS Roma even jokingly banned players from being pictured with the ‘Hotline Bling’ singer.

Anyway, now he’s had his say on the FIFA World Cup final in Qatar, which takes place today (18 December).

In a video with a friend, Drake announced that he’ll be getting behind Argentina's Lionel Messi and his teammates when they take to the field today, which is enough for some to believe that they’ve already lost.

Drake said: “I’ll take Argentina, he’ll take France. We’ll make that happen, that’ll be a vibe.”

He also later shared a picture on his Instagram showing that he’d placed a $1,000,000 bet on the fixture too.

Online, fans have been expressing their disappointment at the supposed hex that Drake places on their favoured sports teams.

One wrote: “Drake curse. It’s over for Argentina," while another said: “Drake put a stake worth $ 1M on Argentina to win against France.

Yes, Drake has thrown a fair amount at this game.

“Oooh Lord let his curse not interfere with the result today, Amen.”

Not everyone is so sure though, as one brave soul commented: “So Drake also made a bet on the Golden State Warriors to win the NBA championship, and they won.

“It’s not over yet boys, Messi’s gonna break his curse.”

If anyone can, it’s Lionel Messi... That’s for sure.

We’ll find out later today.
