The moment we've all been waiting for is finally here! Dakota Fanning and Denzel Washington have reunited at last, and we're not crying - you are.

Look, there are dynamic duos, and then there's Dakota and Denzel.

The pair co-starred in Tony Scott's Man on Fire in 2004 and we've not been able to stop thinking about them since.

The pair finally reunited.

Right, so there's a whole backstory to this reunion, and we're going to fill you in.

Dakota and Denzel go way back, to 2004, when everyone was wearing low-rise jeans.

They starred together in Man on Fire, which takes place in Mexico City, where "a former CIA operative swears vengeance on those who committed an unspeakable act against the family he was hired to protect".

In the film, Denzel plays John Creasy, an alcoholic former CIA agent, and Dakota plays his daughter Lupita, who is abducted.

As you can imagine, the plot made for some incredible on-screen moments, and now, they're reuniting in The Equalizer 3, and we honestly can't wait until its 2023 release.

For those not familiar with The Equalizer franchise, it's set around Denzel's character, Robert Mccall, who helps young people that are in trouble.

We can't wait for the new film.

Seems like the perfect setup for Dakota to come back in, right?

Well, get ready to be excited because pictures of the pair reuniting were shared by the production company behind the film, with Sony taking to Twitter to say: "Denzel Washington and director Antoine Fuqua are back for #TheEqualizer3, joined by Dakota Fanning and Gaia Scodellaro. Now in production on the Amalfi Coast, Italy. @TheEqualizer."

Of course, fans lost their s*** about the reunion, including Dakota herself, who took to Instagram stories back in June to say: "My gratitude to share the screen once again with the legend of all legends is endless. Can't wait."

Dakota took to Instagram to comment on the film.

Her sister, Elle, was equally excited bout the reunion saying: "The reunion to beat all reunions!!!!"

Others took to Twitter to share their love for the pair, with one user writing: "Yes I'm excited for this third sequel The equalizer 3 this is so cool the reunion Denzel Washington and Dakota fanning I'm excited."

While another said: "Wow! Excellent news! Great movie, great action, great direction and great acting. Thanks..."

A third simply said: "That’s very amazing."

We're sure their on-screen chemistry will be just as great to watch this time around.
