Brad Pitt Says He's In The Last Leg Of His Acting Career

For Pitt, his low profile provides the space he needs to reflect and decide what's next in the closing act of his career.

Brad Pitt says he's in the last leg of his acting career and we're pretty heartbroken, to say the least.

Whether you're well aquatinted with the A-lister's past projects, or barely know the first rule of Fight Club, Pitt's had an impressive career.

So, it seems all the more strange that no one has seen the movie star for quite some time.

Many might put this down to the pandemic, but for Pitt his low profile provides the space he needs to reflect and decide what's next in the closing act of his career.

At least, that's what he told GQ when he sat down recently to discuss his next move.

Thinking carefully about his vocation, Pitt told the outlet: "I consider myself on my last leg.

"This last semester or trimester. What is this section gonna be? And how do I wanna design that?"

While Pitt thinks he's on his last leg, he's thoughtful when it comes to his next steps, with the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood star saying the most important thing to remember is authenticity.

"Out here in California, there’s a lot of talk about ‘being your authentic self.’ It would plague me, what does ‘authentic’ mean? [For Pitt] it was getting to a place of acknowledging those deep scars that we carry," he said.

Despite his pensive thoughts and 'last leg' comments, Pitt is far from finished when it comes to making movies - and he's got the wrap sheet to prove it.

Not only is he starring in David Leitch's Bullet Train this summer, he's also releasing a slew of highly anticipated films under his Plan B production company.

Ana de Armas stars in 'Blonde' produced by Pitt's production company.

Those films include Women Talking, an adaptation based on Miriam Toews’ bestselling novel, which sees a group of women from a religious colony who grapple with their faith following a series of sexual assaults from the men in the colony. The film stars Frances McDormand and Sarah Polley.

Another of the movies is Blonde, based on Joyce Carol Oates' historical fiction. The flick sees icon Marilyn Monroe through her rise to fame and tragic death and stars Ana de Armas, coming along with a rare 'adults only' age rating from Netflix.

So, it seems pretty clear that while Pitt is on his 'last leg' he's holding pretty firm for the time being, with plenty of projects to tide fans over.
